1st Skateboarding Accident

So. Just so ya'll know...I did not give my 4 and 2 year old babies full on skateboards for Christmas. THAT person would be Pappi. Anyway...ignoring the whole age inappropriate thing I allowed them to actually have the skateboards and ride them. You know what happens next...

and then THIS....

Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the next day when Kyle's upper lip was swollen 4 times the normal size and all the scrapes showed up so well with the scabs. He about took his entire nose off and almost knocked out one of his front teeth.

To Kyle's credit (and I am secretly proud...) he actually asked to get back on his skateboard a few days later.

Awww! Poor kid! I'm glad he wanted to get back on the board - and even gladder that he probably knocked out a baby tooth. Just think of how much worse it would be for him to have waited until he was seven, with a grown-up tooth before taking that fall!

THis picture doesn't even do it justice. As Ash said, his gum was bleeding right above his front tooth and the next day looked like he took a hit from Mike Tyson!

Oh yea, I'm proud he's right back up still trying to ride it. Now it's even gotten better, our neighbors gave Kyle their old pair of ROLLERBLADES so now he is putting these things on that are 2x too big for him and "skating" around the garage!

Poor baby. I felt really bad when I saw him after the accident. So, I guess I pushed the packet on skateboards but they seemed like OK gifts at the time. I am glad he did get back on the board a few days later. Maybe I need to buy both boys full on body armor before they try riding again. Love you Kyle!!!

Bless his pitiful heart! Thank goodness no stitches were involved. Maybe he needs to wear his FL gator helmet when he is boarding...

Every boy needs a skateboard...it's part of growing up BOY! (Unfortunately, so is falling down and scraping or breaking things.) Our lovebug is a tough kid, and ALL BOY! xxoo

(and, yes, my 5-week-old boy DOES have his own skateboard already...)

Our boys have Incredibles skateboards that I ate a LOT of PopTarts to get for them. Oh, the sacrifice!
